Welcome to our FAQ section designed specifically for candidates like you who are preparing for an online interview on Cammio! Below you'll find answers to some of the most common questions to help you navigate and ace your interview.

General

Do I need a Cammio account to do an interview?

No, you don’t need a Cammio account to participate in an automated interview. You’ll receive an email invitation with a link directly to your interview. Just click on the link, and follow the process. No login or account creation is required from your side – just make sure you’re ready to shine!

Which devices and/or browsers are supported?

Cammio is flexible with the devices you can use for both automated and live interviews. You can choose from a laptop, desktop, tablet, or smartphone, depending on what's most convenient for you. While Cammio works with most modern browsers, we recommend using Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari. Whichever device you choose, make sure it has a stable internet connection and the browser is up-to-date to ensure the best possible interview experience on the Cammio platform.

I’m having camera and microphone issues. What can I do?

If you're experiencing issues with your camera or microphone during the automated interview setup or practice session, here are a few quick tips to troubleshoot:

Check your device settings: Ensure your browser has permission to access your camera and microphone. You can usually find this in the privacy settings of your web browser.
Update your browser: Sometimes, an outdated browser can cause issues with accessing your camera and microphone. Make sure your browser is updated to the latest version.
Restart your browser or device: Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve any temporary issues with hardware recognition.
Test with another device: If possible, try accessing the interview link from a different computer or smartphone. This can help determine if the issue is device-specific.

Automated Interviews

Can I practice before starting my actual interview?

Absolutely! Cammio offers a practice interview where you can familiarize yourself with the automated interview format and test your equipment. We highly recommend taking advantage of this feature to ensure you're comfortable and ready. Nothing you do in the practice interview is shared with the employer or recruiter. This session is solely for your benefit to prepare and gain confidence in using the platform.

If your interview link has expired, the deadline to complete the interview has passed. We recommend contacting the employer or the recruitment team directly as soon as possible. They can provide further instructions, such as extending the deadline or providing a new link, depending on their recruitment policies.

What happens to the test recording of the media test?

The test recording you make during the media test (to check your camera and microphone) is not saved or submitted as part of your interview. This test is purely for you to ensure that your equipment is working correctly and that you’re comfortable with the video and audio quality. Once you're satisfied with the test results, you can proceed to the actual interview questions.

Can I see the interview questions before starting?

No, the interview questions are not available before you start the interview. This is to ensure fairness and consistency in the responses from all candidates. However, in most cases you can take a moment to think about your answer before you start your recording for each question. We recommend utilizing the practice interview to familiarize yourself with the interview format.

What's the deadline for completing my automated interview?

The deadline for completing your automated interview is typically set by the employer or recruiter and can vary depending on the interview setup. You'll find this information in your interview invitation or within the interview instructions. It's important to start your interview well before the deadline to ensure you have enough time to complete all questions without rushing.

How much time and/or attempts will I have to answer each question?

The time and number of attempts allowed for each question varies depending on how the employer or recruiter has set up the interview. You can always see see these details at the bottom right of the interview interface.

Can I retake an answer if I'm not satisfied?

Policies on retakes vary depending on the settings chosen by the employer or recruiters. Some interviews may allow you to retake your answer multiple times, while others might not. You can always see see these details at the bottom right of the interview interface. Do keep in mind that if you get multiple retakes, only the last recording will count. Earlier recordings will be lost.

I want to go back to the previous step but I don’t see a back button.

In the design of our automated interviews, we generally don’t include a back button. This approach mirrors real-life interview scenarios, where answers are given in the moment without the option to revisit previous questions. You have the opportunity to record your answer within the specified time limit and attempts set by the creator of the interview. Once you've submitted an answer, there’s no option to go back or revise it. This ensures fairness and consistency across all candidates. We encourage you to take advantage of the practice interview to become comfortable with the format and to prepare thoroughly for your interview.

I started my interview but didn’t finish. Can I continue later? Is my progress saved?

Yes, in most cases, if you start your interview but can’t complete it in one go, your progress is saved up to the moment where you left off. You can return to the interview later to finish the remaining questions. However, be aware of any deadlines set by the employer for completing the interview.

Who can watch the videos I record?

Rest assured, we take your privacy seriously. Your videos are securely stored and are only accessible to authorised personnel in the hiring process.

Will I get feedback on my interview?

Feedback availability depends on the employer's process. It’s always a good idea to reach out to the employer directly if you have questions about their feedback process.

After completing your automated interview, the responses are sent directly to the employer for review, and you won’t receive a personal link to the completed interview. This ensures the integrity and confidentiality of the recruitment process. However, some employers may choose to share feedback or specific parts of the interview with you as part of their evaluation process. If you’re interested in viewing your responses or receiving feedback, we recommend reaching out directly to the employer.

Live Interviews

How can I check if my internet connection is good enough for the live interview?

To ensure a stable connection for your live interview, Cammio recommends a minimum internet speed of 3 Mbps for both upload and download. You can check your internet speed using online tools like speedtest.net. If your connection is slower, consider connecting to a wired network or moving closer to your Wi-Fi router. Also, close unnecessary applications and tabs on your device to optimize performance during the interview.

What should I do if my internet connection drops during the interview?

If you experience a loss of internet connection during your interview, try not to worry. You can rejoin the interview by clicking on the same link provided in your invitation email. Let your interviewer know about the disconnection as soon as you’re back online. If reconnecting fails, check your invitation email for the contact details of the interviewer to ask on how to proceed.

Who are the guests listed in my interview session?

The guests listed in your interview session are typically members of the hiring team who are there to observe or participate in the interview process. This can include HR personnel, future team members, or department heads.

Can an interviewer record the live interview session without my permission?

No, the interviewer cannot record the live interview session without your consent. Cammio respects your privacy and requires explicit consent before recording any part of the interview. If recording is requested, you’ll receive a notification during the interview, and you can choose to accept or decline. Remember, it's your right to refuse recording if you're not comfortable with it.
