How to Share Your Screen During a Live Interview
Screen sharing lets you show others what's on your screen during a Live Interview. It's great for walking through a case, explaining a task, or reviewing a portfolio together.
It also works the other way around: you can ask candidates to share their screen to show something on their side (for example: a portfolio, a project, a spreadsheet exercise, or a role-play task).
How to Start Sharing a Screen
Prerequisite: The recruiter who set up the interview must have enabled the "Screen Share" feature in the template settings. If you don't see the share button, let your host know.
- Locate the bottom toolbar inside your live interview room.
- Hover over the Share button, then select Share screen.

- A browser prompt will appear asking you to choose exactly what you want to broadcast. You have three options:
- Your Entire Screen: Shares everything visible on your monitor.
- An Application Window: Shares only a specific open program (like a PowerPoint presentation or a Word document).
- A Browser Tab: Shares only a single specific tab from your web browser.

- Make your selection, then click the blue Share button to begin broadcasting to the room.
Sharing Computer Audio
If you need to share audio from a browser tab or application alongside your screen, we highly recommend using Google Chrome.
Depending on the sharing option you select (Entire Screen or Browser Tab) and your operating system, you will see a small Share Audio checkbox at the bottom of the sharing prompt. Simply tick this box before clicking the final Share button.
Troubleshooting: MacOS Permissions
If you are using an Apple computer (MacOS Catalina or newer) and your screen simply won't share, your Mac's system-level security settings are likely blocking your web browser. Here is how to fix it in seconds:
- Open System Settings (or System Preferences) on your Mac.
- Navigate to the Privacy & Security section.
- Scroll down and click on Screen Recording.
- Find the web browser you are currently using (for example: Google Chrome, Safari, Edge) in the list and toggle the switch to On (or ensure the box is checked). You may be prompted to enter your Mac administrator password to unlock these settings.
- Crucial Step: You must completely Quit your browser and reopen it for the new permissions to apply. Don't worry, you can click your interview link again to jump right back into the room.
