Interviewer vs. Candidate Links

When a Live Interview is scheduled in Cammio, the system automatically generates two completely distinct types of access links. Understanding the difference between these links is crucial for keeping your interview environment secure and ensuring everyone has the correct tools during the call.

The Candidate Link is a secure, unique URL generated specifically for the person being interviewed.

  • How they receive it: This link is automatically included in the email invitation sent to the candidate when you schedule the interview.
  • What they experience: When a candidate clicks this link, they are taken through a quick equipment test (camera and microphone check) before being placed into a secure Waiting Room.
  • Permissions: Candidates have limited controls. They cannot start the interview, record the session, or see other candidates. They must wait for an Interviewer to admit them into the main room.

Anyone who joins using this link is granted "Host" privileges.

  • How they receive it: The recruiter who scheduled the interview, and any added Guest Interviewers, will receive this link via email.
  • What they experience: Interviewers bypass the waiting room and enter the main interview room directly.
  • Permissions: Interviewers have full control over the session. They can admit candidates from the waiting room, start and stop the Recording, mute participants, and end the interview for everyone.

Never share an Interviewer Link with a candidate. Doing so will give them full host controls, including the ability to start recordings or admit other people from the waiting room.

Sometimes emails get lost in spam folders, or you need to quickly send someone a link. You can manually copy both types of links directly from your template.

  1. Go to your Live Interview template.
  2. Click on the Invites tab.
  3. Locate the candidate's scheduled session in the list.
  4. Click the More actions menu (the three dots) on the right of their row.
  5. Select either Copy candidate link or Copy interviewer link depending on who you are sending it to.
  6. Paste the link into your direct message or personal email.

You can also copy a link from the Invitations overview page, accessed from the left sidebar menu.

Next Steps

Now that you know how access works, you are ready to conduct the interview.
