Updating Candidate Statuses (e.g. Ready for Review → Approved)

As your team submits their evaluations and the scores roll in, candidate statuses help you track where each person is in your hiring flow (reviewing, decision made, hired, etc.). Updating statuses keeps your Completed Interviews list clean and makes it easy for your team to focus on the right candidates.

The Candidate Status Workflow

While you are managing your candidates, you will typically see them move through a few key statuses:

  • Ready for Review: The candidate has finished their video interview and is waiting to be evaluated.
  • In Review: Your team members have been assigned and are currently evaluating the candidate.
  • Approved: The candidate passed the video interview stage and is ready for the next step in your hiring process.
  • Declined: The candidate is no longer in consideration for this role.
  • Hired: Success! The candidate has been offered and accepted the job.

Updating a Single Candidate's Status

When you have just finished reviewing a candidate's interview and are ready to make an immediate decision, you can update their status.

From a Candidate's Interview Analysis Page:

  1. Look at the top navigation bar, right next to the candidate's name and basic details.
  2. Click on their current Status (e.g., Ready for Review) to open the dropdown menu.
  3. Select the new status you wish to assign (e.g., Approved).

From the Completed Interviews Overview:

  1. Go to your Completed Interviews from the left sidebar menu OR inside a specific template.
  2. Find your candidate and click on their current Status (e.g., Ready for Review) to open the dropdown menu.
  3. Select the new status you wish to assign (e.g., Approved).

Bulk Updating Statuses

If you are managing a high-volume pipeline, like a large intake of apprentices (Azubis), updating candidates one by one can slow you down. Use the bulk action tool to progress dozens of candidates simultaneously right from your dashboard.

  1. Go to your Completed Interviews dashboard.
  2. Check the boxes on the left side of the candidate rows to select multiple people.
  3. A bulk action toolbar will appear near the bottom of your screen.
  4. Click the Change Status option in the toolbar.
  5. Select your new status (e.g., Approved) and confirm the change.
